La Crescenta, CA, September 17: You: 4th-generation Ford E-350 van, lower half of all body panels covered in matte black (anodized aluminum?) diamond-plate sheets, lifted nearly a full foot, with a snorkel all the way above your roofline. Me: who cares, really?

Definitely metal sheets bolted on to the body panels. Maybe the matte black on them was liner paint, though.
